18:30 Arrival at Tower of London

Short guided tour by Yeoman Warder (Beefeater) and a private viewing of the Crown Jewels

19:00 Drinks reception

19:30 Dinner, during which...

19:45 Welcome and introduction

19:50 Starters served

20:40 Main course, dessert and coffee served

22:45 Carriages

Please note that there is to be no movement in the grounds of the Tower of London between 21:15 and 22:05 due to the Ceremony of the Keys which takes place every night. This will mean that no guests are permitted to leave the dinner venue during this time.

"The Ceremony of the Keys is the traditional locking up of the Tower of London and has taken place on each and every night, without fail, for at least 700 years. The importance of securing this fortress for the night is still very relevant because, although the Monarch no longer resides at this royal palace, the Crown Jewels and many other valuables still do!

Tickets are issued free of charge (manquerait plus de nous faire payer pour les voir tourner le verrou) but, due to the popularity of the ceremony (je reve), it is necessary to follow the process below for applications.

Please apply in writing including the following with your letter:

Names of all attendees

Two possible dates you can attend for at least two months in advance (three months in advance if you wish to attend in June, July and August) (prévoir quelque chose pour dans trois mois c'est quand meme un peu ambitieux, donner en plus deux dates prévisionnelles ca releve du carrément impossible)

Please bring the original ticket issued by the Tower of London. Visitors will be admitted to the Tower under escort (la qu'est-ce qu'ils entendent par escort parce que du coup ca peut etre intéressant) at 21:30 hrs (9:30pm) precisely. Please note that due to the traditional nature of this event, late arrivals will not be admitted. The ceremony will conclude at 22:05 hrs (10.05pm) (qu'est-ce qu'ils peuvent bien tourner pendant une demi-heure - ils doivent essayer toutes les clés avant de trouver la bonne "non, celle-ci c'est pour mon casier, celle-ci c'est pour l'anti-vol du vélo" etc etc) after which all visitors will be escorted to the exit.

There are no toilet or refreshment facilities available (pas pipi caca).

@Nina : Allez, c'est parti, donne-moi juste trois mois
